The SpearPro silicone fin keeprs are a brand new product and a much more efficient than traditional rubber fin keeprs. They are designed to have a bit more stretch and to be much more comfortable and easy to remove if needed in case of emergency.
The fin keepers not only help hold a loose footpocket on your feet either because you do not wear your booties or because the footpockets just do not fit perfectly, they also help transferring energy by providing stability when kicking. Definitely a must have piece of equipment.
I was getting severe rubbing and subsequent blister at the back of my ankles from my fin pockets. My buddy recommended I try fin keepers out. They worked pretty well, I only started to get a little rubbing after a few hours of spearing. They do make removing fins a little harder but that's a small trade off.
